Quality and Environmental Specialist

The Role

This new opportunity has exciting potential that will be shaped around continuous improvement of our quality and environmental management system for all our offices across Canada working from the Regina office. Under the supervision of the Director of IMS, you will be responsible for client and vendor record management, vendor performance evaluation, and continuous assessment of internal processes.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in reviewing and maintaining quality and environmental procedures in alignment with business and project needs.
  • Support internal IMS audits to ensure compliance with corporate policies, practices, and procedures, including ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards.
  • Audit project documentation to ensure all processes are completed, reviewed, and approved by the appropriate staff.
  • Perform vendor management activities to ensure adherence to established procedures.
  • Follow up on nonconformances and conduct appropriate corrective actions and root cause analyses.
  • Coordinate with equipment managers to ensure calibration records are up to date.
  • Manage the client satisfaction feedback survey process.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of internal processes.
  • Engage employees on the importance of quality and environmental procedures as they relate to their roles and responsibilities.
  • Perform data management tasks to support management review meetings.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by the Director of IMS and/or Senior Management.

About You

We’re looking for a candidate with a strong mix of qualifications and experience. Key attributes include:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in science, applied science, business management, or engineering.
  • At least 4 years of experience working with quality and environmental management systems, project management, auditing, and process improvement.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management), and ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety) standards.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients, vendors, employees, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience in risk management, procedure writing, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work independently while also demonstrating strong collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in creating and reviewing technical documentation, including project plans, procedures, and design documents.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to develop, review, and monitor performance metrics.
  • Experience facilitating continuous improvement team meetings.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Teams and SharePoint), Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • A well-developed sense of diplomacy, including conflict resolution, negotiation, and people management skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with employees and senior management.
  • Ability to work with pivot tables in Excel; experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI is an asset.
